I am definitely a coffee drinker more than a tea drinker, though I do like both. But I drink decaf - I used to drink a pot of caffeinated coffee a day, until I discovered that my body hates too much caffeine. I became jittery, irratated, and anxioux. The kind where I would snap at everybody for no reason and have difficulty getting to sleep because I would sit and listen intently to my heart beat.

But I love coffee, so I'm drinking the decaf every day.

Fruit salad is delicous, especially with a light layer of lowfat coolwhip over everything. Apples and pineapple and grapes and walnuts...yum.

this inspires me:

#1: Always think positive. Squash all negative thoughts. Monitor
your thoughts. Be aware of your self-talk. We all talk to ourselves, a
lot, but we are not always aware of these thoughts. Start listening. If
you hear negative thoughts, stop them, push them out, and replace them
with positive thoughts. Positive thinking can be amazingly powerful.

#2: Make a big public commitment. Be fully committed. This
will do the trick every time. Create a blog and announce to the world
that you are going to achieve a certain goal by a certain date. Commit
yourself to the hilt.

#3: Create a friendly, mutually-supportive competition.We
are all competitive in nature, at least a little. Some more than
others. Take advantage of this part of our human nature by using it to
fuel your goals. If you have a workout partner or goal buddy, you’ve
got all you need for a friendly competition. See who can log more
miles, or save more dollars, each week or month. See who can do more
pushups or pullups. See who can lose the most weight or have the best
abs or lose the most inches on their waist. Make sure the goals are
weighted so that the competition is fairly equal. And mutually support
each other in your goals.

#4: Keep a daily journal of your goal.If you are consistent about keeping a journal, it can be a great
motivator. A journal should have not only what you did for the day, but
your thoughts about how it went, how you felt, what mistakes you made,
what you could do to improve. To be consistent about keeping a journal,
do it right after you do your goal task each day. Make keeping a journal a sensory pleasure.

#5: Visualize your goal clearly, on a daily basis, for at least 5-10 minutes. Visualize your successful outcome in great detail.
Close your eyes, and think about exactly how your successful outcome
will look, will feel, will smell and taste and sound like. Where are
you when you become successful? How do you look? What are you wearing?
Form as clear a mental picture as possible. Now here’s the next key: do it every day. For at least a few minutes each day. This is the only way to keep that motivation going over a long period of time.

#6: Make it a rule never to skip two days in a row. This
rule takes into account our natural tendency to miss days now and then.
We are not perfect. So, you missed one day … now the second day is upon
you and you are feeling lazy … tell yourself NO! You will not miss two
days in a row! Zen Habits says so! And just get started. You’ll thank
yourself later.
OMG Ms. Shimmy.. you dont know how much this help me. i will try my very very very best.. ill report to this after 1 week..and..if i loose weight.. ^________________________________^

So how's it going everybody? I lost 3 pounds in the last month - only 9 more to go to get back to where i was in January and 20 more to get to where i want to be!

Spin's working out well for me though it's tiring as hell to do it 5-7 days a week. I'm not giving up and i hope none of you are either!

hey!

Well I've been sticking to healthy eating for the most part, but only dancing as exercise... Still lost 5 pounds in the last month though! Yay!!! Just about 15 more to get where I wanna be

Let's do this! Oh, I am increasing my BD practice to at least 2 full sessions per week, outside of my usual 2 classes. Let's see if that makes an impact

Okay! I'm a little late reading this thread but if all of you can do it so can I . I used to walk everyday and stopped from pure laziness last year. Since then I have gained 25 pounds. Got to stay away from the cookies my family begs me to bake all the time!. I start bd classes in two weeks and I vow to do my pilates workout every other day and walk on the off days from now till then. With all of your support and encouragement, we will all get healthier and shimmy like divas!!!!!

Welcome, Jenday!!!

Everyone sounds like they are doing well - I'm so proud of us!

I had some time off of working out due to some minor surgery. I just started back to working out about 3 days ago. I'm down about 2 pounds since my operation and I want to lose about 8 in about 7 weeks. (New goal)

By the end of the year, I'm hoping to have at least 10 more from that.

I've decided to shake things up a bit with my diet next week. More fresh and frozen veggies and protein, less carbs and work out a bit when I get home from work as well as before I go in. I really need to get back to the weights as well as dancing and really start pushing the yoga once more. I hope between all that to get things back in high gear.

gosh you are so energetic - I've lost about 10lbs......... Only thing is it's the same 2 off and on - currently on! School Holidays end Friday so I will have more time to exercise. You would think I get plenty of exercise starting at 7 to look after kids till 6, but I need to keep my strength up and end up eating too much. And then there are the thank you chocs and biccies

I had to buy a new dress because I was going to a wedding and the dress i had planned to wear didn't fit me anymore . Sooo... now I'm very determined to loose some weight. I can feel that my body is too heavy for me and I want to loose the weight before it wears my body out too much. I have given myself until November to try on my own and if I haven't managed to loose anything I will join weightwatchers or similar beause then I can't manage it on my own.
I have pretty much cut out candy and cake as well as cheese (which was my vice) and most dairy products (also trying to improve my skin). Cut down ALOT on carbs and eat more nuts and veggies and tofu instead. Try to workout two times a week which I hope will be three times as soon as I have moved and don't have to pack or paint walls anymore.

I think I need to loose like 50-60 pounds. Not sure about the kilos>pounds though.
Good luck to you all. Hope you are also enjoying getting stronger and less heavy.

Hey, maybe you've hit your plateau - apparantly every so often our weight loss hits a plateau and we have to change up the routine to jumpstart it again. I always give kudos to you supermoms as well who do it all so when those kids head out to school, find an hour for you and have at it!
