That is truly mortifying! I hope the fashion industry continues looking at what the picture of health is. Skinny Skinny women like that definately are not! I think most men like a woman to have a little meat on her bones anyway. Ohhh...One more point. I believe the fashion industry should be accountable for women who have developed eating disorders as a result. I know we are responsible for our own actions, but they are/were promoting it!

The poor thing!I think it's really hard for girls nowadays to be happy with their weight. I'm slim I think, but I find it hard to be happy with how I look cause I'm always comparing myself to other people. Worst is when I go into shops and I see something nice, and then try it on and it looks crap. I'm trying to lose weight though by exercise. I'm always too hungry not to eat. It's really scary how common eating disorders and stuff are getting now. I had to go up to hospital with one of my mates cause she had a panic attack after eating a few grapes. It's hard to say the right thing to them n all... |

I've read that most of these extremely thin models today are underage girls from the former Soviet Union. A few countries are trying to get limits to how much young models can work, and to get doctors' certification that they are healthy, but as they've always seemed to get whatever pills, booze and cigarettes they've wanted, they'll probably find doctors who wil sign anything for a fee, anyway.
Fortunately, belly dance doesn't encourage this kind of entremeness, I've seen only one belly dancer as thin as this poor dead model. I remember the audience gasping when she came out on stage, wearing very little. Natural skinniness it wasn't.

Evidently, there is some truth that photo shopped pictures are being circulated throughout the internet:
Urban Legends Reference Pages: Emaciated Models However, we should all be cautious about undue weight loss as it is extremely hazardous. It should be noted that deaths due to weight loss are not exclusively female as several teen boys have died from weight cutting in high school and college wrestling: InterMat: Wrestling, from every angle |

Her name was Ana Reston from Brazil, She was a very popular model in the american ramp circuit and did a lot of modeling for Armani, When she died she had a paper thin body, After her death the fashion industry started taking measures to prevent more cases like this one. I think in Europe and South America now you have to have a standard Body mass index for ramp modeling.

She IS the same model, but the pictures I've seen of her she was never this thin. Plus, she had dark hair.
The girl was so beautiful when I saw her. It's such a shame. What is the fashion world thinking? This is beautiful? It's disgusting. Azeeza |
