i understand how you feel...i'm probably the biggest dancer in my troupe but the more i dance the more i shrink and the more i feel better about myself. It's not always easy - like i recently performed at a restaurant where the music was soft enough for me to hear people speak as i danced near to them and this particular table couldn't finish talk about my size - it stung and for a second i felt tears but i kept on trucking - i danced and i had fun. So my advice - keep on trucking, dance for yourself and dance like nobody's watching =)

I admire your strength...Do not listen to what others say, they will always find criticism no matter what it is. You are doing it for enjoyment, relaxation and to keep healthy. Who cares what others think of you You look like a beautiful person in your picture and I will remember your strength when I perform one day.

Hey, if it isn't about your size, it's about your tits! Or your legs. Or your tummy. Or your hair. Or your expression. Or your age. Whatever.

You'll never please everyone so focus on those who seem to be enjoying your performance and ignore the ill-mannered. On and off stage!

i agree with you 100% but sometimes people can make you forget that with their hurtful statements.

I know!!!! I've only just left school and i get people saying stuff about me because i'm not fat but i'm very curvy as my mum would say and it hurts when people say things about how you look especially if you have quite low self esteem like me, but i have to remember that they are jealous that they can't move their bodies and be comfortable with their bodies in the way we are and can!!!!

I've always had low self esteem myself...but I've been feeling better about my body since I started bellydance...but I know if someone was to say something to me/about me it would really sting...I hope I can build my confidence up so when it does happen I can ignore the person/people and not let it get to me.

Hiyas,

It's strange, but I since dancing I feel more pressure about my body than not. I worry about my appearence more. I'm a perfectionist though and I get bored too easily so I always have to try and strive for more than what I have.
