I am myself still quite some time away from my forty (being 25, but resorting to a mental age of 3 every time I see a puppy or a chocolate bar), so I can't really take much stand on the issue. However, looking at my mother, who is 46, I can say that the cliche of "age is merely a number" is true. Pretty much for the past 10 years I haven't really felt there was an age difference between us - that's because she is so cool!
