I dont know about everyone, but when I dance, I know it is much bigger than that because it expresses more my personality rather than feminity... surely i dont writhe on the floor in a revealing bra... if that makes any difference.... After all the beauty of the dance is in it catering for different cultures, different tastes and yes different ways of expression.

Dear Reen,
Well, for one thing the differences in attitudes about sexuality do not stop it from being a dance that is performed in front of entire families in the Middle East, and certainly not where I live either, regardless of sexual content. Writhing on the floor is not what makes the dance sexual. Sexuality is an element of he dance itself, not of some action that might spill over into the "sleazy" department. I would say that the beauty of the dance relies very much n its being a portrayal of some very distinct cultural elements that get very lost out of context, and that healthy sexuality is one of them.
Regards,
A'isha
