I would just like to add a curly lament: I got my hair cut yesterday and the stylist put short layers in, despite me specifically asking her not to because short layers + thick curly hair = poofy. Me and poofy are not friends.
So whereas before I was getting away with using none or minimal product, now I am back to the following process in order to make my curls manageable:
1) apply leave-in conditioner to wet hair
2) apply goldwell 'move control' (silicone sealant - works great)
3) twirl curls to define them
4) do not touch until dry.
Sigh...more high maintenance than I would like!
