My skin has never been great - blackheads are a big problem - and nothing works. I'm on day two of the oil cleansing method and I'm actually seeing a difference! Especially the enflamed red bumps around my eyes - TOTALLY gone now!
Basically, the idea is that oil dissolves oil, so you "wash" you face with oil instead of soap. Most people use a mix of olive oil and castor oil. The more castor, the more power the mix has. I'm using 25% castor for now and we'll see how things go. After massaging a generous amount of oil into your skin for a full two minutes, you steam your oiled face with a very hot washcloth. I reheat the cloth three times to get a good steaming, then start wiping the oil off. I finish with a light, quick going over with natural veggie oil soap, but many people just wipe the oil away until their skin feels nice and leave it at that.
I'm just amazed at the difference in such a short time with such a mild substance. After all the products I've gone through.......
Anyone else use this technique? I understand oil cleansing is traditional in some places.
