I once heard from an anatomy and physiology teacher that if you drink a can of diet soda everyday for a week, you actually gain one pound. It has to do with the way the diet soda metabolizes. My son has been slimming down for cycling and he has stopped drinking diet pop altogether and he dropped 3 pounds he was struggling to lose up until he stopped drinking pop. I wonder if there is truth in this?
