I think bowler hat is not what I meant- those English riding hats like you see Princess Anne wear in competition is what I am talking about. No tweed jackets? I am soooooo crushed. Next you'll be telling me you make tea with teabags and James Herriot didn't wear Wellingtons when he stomped around Yorkshire.
Demelza, I demand- yes, demand- a picture of your American English riding costume. (This from a girl who grew up riding horses bareback and bare-footed. My bare feet, not the horse's. And, no, I never got smashed toes from being stepped on. Growing up barefoot in the south, one develops fancy footwork to avoid horses' hooves, cactus, and rattlesnakes.)
