I have also heard "RUMORS" of mishaps during surgery. One such is a doctor did not reattach a nipple, causing the nipple to have to be removed. That kinda scares me a bit. I would imagine the trick to feeling secure about such a surgery is having the best doctor. Good luck to you and keep on trying Hugs.
Insurance covers practically zilch for breast reduction. around Aud$700 each breast - that is the medicare (gov't and private insurance total lumped together)- so you are out of pocket by around $5000. Some years ago if you were referred to a surgeon by your doc it was fully covered. But somewhere a long the line, the health minister ( male) decided that women should pay for it themselves. Obviously his wife/mother etc didn't have any probs. said health minister and his cohorts were looking for ways to save money so heaps of things were lumped under cosmetic surgery and the majority of the cost then fell on the individual.

I know what you mean about the shoulder dents. I must have spent 100s and 100s of dollars trying to find the right bra. 90% are worn once or twice and discarded. You try them on in a fitting room, and they appear to be a good fit, etc, but you really can't tell in 5 minutes if they will be comfortable, supportive etc. Most of the time after wearing them for several hours you just can't wait to get them off. Your shoulders feel like some giant has been standing on & crushing them and I also find that to get the support needed, that they seem to cut into your ribs quite painfully.

I would love to be a nice 34/36 small C again <sigh>

I have heard horror stories too, so far none here in Oz, but if I ever went ahead I would very carefully research the cosmetic surgeons before settling on one. Most of the cosmetic surgeons are reconstruction/trauma surgeons as well. They don't just practice cosmetic stuff. They obviously do a lot as that is where the money is.

One surgeon here ( maybe others I don't know about) he uses a minimal invasive method of a form of lipo for reductions, which sounds really good, and the skin apparently shrinks really well, downtime and pain is also dramatically decreased. I think I would go for that method rather than the big chop kind of thing Just wish it was cheaper. Both methods cost the same.
