I am a peace maker, that is what I am trying to do it here. I feel for gypsy cos she is an arab person, and it it hurts if ones culture and way of life is discussed in a negative way. It really doesn't matter what the reality is, it still is very sensitive thing to discuss. If you remembered I defended you in one of my posts, because I didn't think it was right for you to be called names simply because you expressed your opinion. I simply think it was not necessary to post those links on your part and also gypsy replying with more links attached.

Janaki,

I remember watching Oprah's episode about violence against women, where she had talked about one of her old interviews with actress Robin Givens. It was mentioned the statistics about domestic violence in America. I posted that RG link as a reference, and this was recorded from one of the major American TV networks. I did not post a poor quality, stolen homemade video that contained content offensive in nature and wrong captions, as it is the case with the video of the Iraqi woman. I have tried to make my posts on this thread as educational as possible. Personally, when I don't know something, I like to keep my mouth shut. There is nothing I hate more than disinforming others, if anyone did the same to me (fed me fantasy) I won't be happy either. I agree with you that culture and religion are sensitive issues, and in order to discuss this one should at least have a good amount of knowledge about the culture represented and/or factual information based on experience to share with others. Culture is not something we can learn about from the news, if we were discussing world politics now that would be a different story.
