Unfortunately, I'm a lot like Maria, though I can sew buttons on lol after practising real hard. I'm making my own beaded hipscarf inside my head, but I just can't get started with it. I'd love to learn how to sew. I've got so many ideas but no way to execute them.
Usually I just have things done by a seamstress. She's done a beautiful flowy light blue skirt for me, but the fabric is so fragile it already has a few bumps and scratches here and there. I'm thinking of having her add another one or two layers of fabric, so it'll look like on of those ancient yards-of-chiffon-skirts..
Janaki, I'm really loving Samia's costume. I would love one, with a few crystal appliques or beads here and there though
. If I ever come across such a thing... I'd love to get a new costume though. I'll be visiting a Spanish festival this year where Asi is coming (Orit's costume designer). He's pricey but I'm dying to see if he'll bring along something nice for sale
