I agree that it's a combo of both of these problems you mention. I am not overweight, I exercise a lot and for a long time I have had a very healthy diet. I expect the problems I am having now stem from carrying babies and being on my feet so much and now dancing. I don't have a car and walk/cycle everywhere. Our shops are 1 hour away on foot along a bush track and I often carried my babies in slings even when they were as old as 3yo. My clue that this is one of the causes of the problem is that my left foot is much worse and that is the side that I carried them on. I find that the pain is equally in the heel and the front padding of the foot and sometimes all of my toes ache too.
On a positive note I have treated myself to Orthopedic shoes for Christmas and they are wonderfully comfortable and are helping. Homey Peds have come a long way since my nana wore them and my new shoes are pretty and trendy - crimson with leopard print details - I love them.
