Wow, quite a coup, Salome! Congrats!

I've come to suspect the visiting Turkish dancers from the late 1950s on had a big impact on what we've come to call Amcab/American Oriental style.

I'd like to know how Princess Banu came to have that name, and what her real one is. Also, how she trained and got into professional belly dancing, where and when she toured in the United States and whether she ever showed any aspiring American dancers some moves.
