I think, as a very newbie newbie of not even a year, that it's a great idea to focus on the music and movements basics first, because it takes ages to learn them! Initially I really thought tribal style was great, but now I'm much more comfortable watching the egyptian dancers - not sure exactly why (but then again, why do I like vanilla icecream and not chocolate icecream?!!)
I have watched heaps of YouTube clips - and it doesn't take long before I started to pick out what I liked of each dancer.
BTW I love the costuming of both dances - but they are really different from each other!
