No you're not the only one to like a costuming style that might be different than its particular dance style. (I think it might be normal for us newbies.)

I like the slower earthier movements that you might see in tribal fusion (think Rachel Brice) but I wouldn't want to be dressed in dark colors from head to toe all the time because I love color. I also like to watch those dancing Egyptian style.

I'm still new to the dance and I don't want to limit myself by not exploring the other dance styles but so far I don't see myself as a Cabaret dancer. (or what I think a Cabaret dancer is)

My focus is learning the basic movements because they are present in every style.
