I think you need to speak with your teacher, ask her why the change ( don't say anything about the other student jenny) just seek answers for her change of heart, and also explain to her you have prepared for this opportunity carefully.
Yes I would probably be upset and hurt, but would like to know why she has changed her mind and hasn't let you know.
Maybe the girl jenny spoke to her and asked her for the opportunity and placed the teacher on the spot and maybe she found it hard to say no, some people are like that if they are confronted by a strong personality. But give your teacher a chance to explain, regardless of how this came about she needs to tell you that she has changed her mind and she should have done so before announcing the change to the class.
