Hi Chi,

Definitely stay away from the Australian sun if you can - apart from going red from burning, skin cancer really isn't fun (or pretty!).

I'm very white, and occasionally use fake tans - mainly for special occasions and so as not to blind people with the glare off my skin! The one I'm loving at the moment is Johnson's Holiday Skin... it moisturises the skin as well as building up a gradual tan so you don't go orange. Remember to exfoliate first, then apply a some of this after your shower/bath every day until you get to your desired shade. They do fade over time, (I think I get a couple of weeks out of it, but it might be different on you), so you will need to keep reapplying if you want to stay "tanned".
